Arsenal is engaging in discussions with Takehiro Tomiyasu, aiming to secure a new contract for the player, as reported by The Athletic.
Tomiyasu, who arrived from Bologna in 2021, has become a fan favorite at the Emirates Stadium due to his impressive performances despite several injury setbacks.
Having made 71 appearances for the Gunners, the Japanese international is anticipated to finalize the agreement for an extended deal. His existing contract extends until 2025, with an additional option for a 12-month extension by the north London club.
Securing a new deal for Tomiyasu would mark another significant achievement for Arsenal in retaining key players this year. Earlier in the year, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, and Martin Odegaard extended their contracts until 2027 and 2028, respectively. This trend highlights the club’s commitment to keeping top talent to bolster their chances of securing trophies.
In recent recognition, Tomiyasu was voted as Arsenal’s monthly MVP for October via fan voting, marking his second award since September 2021.
Looking ahead, Arsenal prepares for their upcoming Premier League fixture against Wolves, aiming to maintain their position at the top of the table.
