Real Madrid‘s upcoming El Clasico clash with Barcelona will see both Jude Bellingham and Joselu in action despite concerns about their availability.
Bellingham, who was substituted during Tuesday’s 2-1 victory over Braga, faced adductor issues due to the soft pitch, as confirmed by Real Madrid’s head coach Carlo Ancelotti.
However, his withdrawal was precautionary, and he remains in good shape, having impressed with 11 goals and three assists in 12 appearances for Real Madrid.
Joselu, on the other hand, missed the Champions League match against Braga due to the flu.
The official statement from Real Madrid revealed his unfortunate absence, but he is expected to have recovered in time for the highly anticipated El Clasico fixture.
Joselu has been a key player for Real Madrid this season, contributing five goals and two assists in 12 appearances.
Despite Joselu’s absence against Braga, Rodrygo stepped up and scored his second goal of the season, earning praise from Ancelotti.
“The goal is obviously important, for us because it opened the scoring and for him it was obviously important too,” Ancelotti told reporters when asked about the attacker’s contribution.
“But, even when he hasn’t scored in other games he has still had good performance. We know, though, that goals are important for forwards, so hopefully this can help him going forward.”
Real Madrid will, however, miss the services of Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao, Dani Ceballos, and Arda Guler, who are sidelined due to injuries.
Real Madrid currently leads the La Liga table, holding a one-point advantage over third-placed Barcelona.
After being held to a 1-1 draw by Sevilla in their previous league fixture, Real Madrid aims to secure a victory in the upcoming El Clasico showdown.
