According to reports, Thiago Silva’s former club, Fluminense, wants to bring the Brazilian captain back to their squad for the 2024 season.
Silva has been a key player in Chelsea’s defense since joining the team from Paris Saint-Germain in 2020, helping them win three trophies, including the UEFA Champions League in 2021.
He recently signed a one-year contract extension with Chelsea, which will keep him in London until 2024.
Chilean journalist Jose Tomas Fernandez Pumarino shared the news on Twitter, stating that Fluminense is already working on a strategy to sign Silva in either January or July of 2024.

“Thiago Silva, with a contract with Chelsea until the end of next season, is one of Fluminense’s goals for the 2024 season, and they are already working on the formula to achieve said signing in January or July,” he tweeted.
Fluminense’s interest in the 38-year-old defender is no secret, as club president Mario Bittencourt recently confirmed his desire to bring Silva back to the team.
Bittencourt explained that they are waiting for Silva’s decision with Chelsea before moving. “We are first waiting for his decision there with Chelsea; we don’t know if he will renew there.
“We are waiting for this news, after that, we will or not start a conversation with him to make him return to Fluminense,” he said in an interview with Lance.
Silva began his professional career with Fluminense, playing for the Brazilian team between 2006 and 2009, where he made 80 appearances, scored nine goals, and provided four assists.
He helped Fluminense win the Copa do Brasil trophy in 2007 before moving to AC Milan.
