Davido Celebrates Cousin Tunji Adeleke’s Political Appointment In Osun Amid Controversy

Afrobeats sensation, Davido, has taken to social media to celebrate his cousin, Tunji Adeleke, who was recently appointed as the Chairman of the Osun State Local Government Commission.

Their uncle, Ademola Adeleke, who serves as the Governor of Osun State, made the appointment.

Expressing his confidence in his cousin’s capabilities, Davido posted on his Instagram and Twitter pages, praising Tunji Adeleke, who happens to be the son of the late former governor of Osun State, Isiaka Adeleke. Amid the criticism surrounding the appointment, Davido remains optimistic that his cousin will perform exceptionally well in his new role.

“Congrats @Tunegee on your emergence as the Chairman Local Government Commission Osun State! You are a leader, and you will do well… We dey your back,” Davido wrote.

“Proud of you Cuzzy @tunegee e don start,” he added.

Recall that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s decision to appoint his daughter and other family members as Commissioners in the state sparked a wave of reactions last month. On Friday, July 7, the Osun State House of Assembly confirmed the list of 25 commissioner-nominees presented by Governor Adeleke for screening and confirmation.

Among the appointments were Governor Adeleke’s biological daughter, Adenike Adeleke, and another family member, Moruf Adeleke. The announcement triggered heated discussions online, with many individuals pointing out the perceived double standard in supporting Governor Adeleke’s appointments while criticizing President Tinubu for similar decisions involving his children.
