The Kaduna State Veterinary Doctors Association, has issued a warning to residents regarding a suspected case of rabies in the state.
Khalifa Aliyu, the association’s chairman, stressed the importance of taking necessary precautions due to the hospitalization of a teenage boy at the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, who is believed to have contracted human rabies.
Aliyu urged residents to exercise caution around stray dogs and promptly report any incidents of dog bites to the nearest clinic. According to NAN, he stated, “The patient has shown traits of rabies infection; he was seen biting humans, objects, papers, wood, and tongue thrusting along the street.”

“We hereby call on the general public to be wary of stray dogs around that area and report any dog bites to the nearest government clinic or Ministry of Agriculture,” Aliyu emphasized.
The chairman assured that all necessary measures are being implemented to prevent the further spread of the virus, and he confirmed that the patient’s condition is stable.
