Tottenham Hotspur’s acting head coach, Cristian Stellini, has been sacked by chairman Daniel Levy following their 6-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday.
Ryan Mason, who previously played for the club, will take over head coach responsibilities.
Stellini had taken charge at the end of March after Antonio Conte’s departure and only tasted victory once from four games during his short tenure.
In addition to the heavy defeat against Newcastle, Tottenham recently dropped crucial points against Bournemouth and Everton.

Their current fifth-place standing in the Premier League with only six games remaining means they could miss out on European qualification altogether unless their results improve.
Stellini’s departure comes in a crucial week for the club, with matches against Manchester United and Liverpool on the calendar.
They will finish the season with matches against Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Brentford, and Leeds United.
