Sunmbo Adeoye, the wife of Pastor Adeoye and the mother of two of singer 2face Idibia’s sons, recently shared her childhood experiences on Instagram.
In a touching post, she emphasized her 84-year-old mother’s industriousness’s profound impact on shaping her character and instilling a strong desire to achieve.
Growing up, Sunmbo and her sister often accompanied their mother on supply runs for her supermarket and restaurant, located at the staff canteens of Mulmaco and First Aluminium companies. Recalling those moments, she wrote, “As little girls, my sister and I would hide inside Mum’s Land Cruiser whenever she set off to get her supplies at the depot. We would cover ourselves in sacks, only unveiling when we were certain she was too far to turn back home.”

Sunmbo’s mother, still displaying remarkable industry at age 84, served as an inspiring example and role model to her daughters. Reflecting on the power of influence, Sunmbo expressed, “Never underestimate the power of the person you constantly look up to. We become like who we see.” She stressed the importance of observing admirable individuals who exhibit determination, resilience, and hard work, as those qualities become ingrained in our lives.
