The Oyo Police Command has confirmed One dead and the arrest of twelve suspected hoodlums following a protest on Monday at Sumal Foods factories in Oluyole, Ibadan.
Adewale Osifeso, the spokesperson for the command, released a statement on Tuesday detailing the incident.
Osifeso explained that suspected hoodlums hijacked the protest, resulting in the arrest of twelve individuals.
“The protest was fueled by misleading information about the company depriving them of palliatives rumored to have been given to workers of every privately established firm and company,” he stated.
He further clarified, “The Oyo State Police Command wishes to set records straight concerning the disturbing violent protests that rocked one of the factories belonging to Sumal Foods, Oluyole Ibadan, on Tuesday, around 1600 hours.”
