Starting from April 1st, Twitter will discontinue the ‘Legacy’ blue checks for all users, according to a recent announcement by the social media giant.
Elon Musk said in February 2023 that the checkmarks would be removed soon due to corruption.

Users of the app were encouraged to sign up for Twitter Blue, to retain their blue checkmark.
Twitter Blue is a paid subscription service available worldwide. It offers a blue tick and up to 4,000-character tweets. Users can edit them, watch Full HD videos up to 60 minutes long, see fewer ads, and have their tweets appear more prominently on the timeline.

Twitter Blue launched in Nigeria in March 2023. It costs ₦3,650 monthly on the website and ₦5,000 for Android and iOS users. Users can also purchase an annual plan for ₦38,500 per year.
Elon Musk has recently tweeted a link where users worldwide can subscribe to the Blue service for $7.
To subscribe, users can go to the profile menu, select Twitter Blue on their mobile device, tap ‘Subscribe,’ or visit Twitter.com, click on the ‘More’ section, select ‘Twitter Blue,’ and finally click on ‘Subscribe’ to make the payment.
