In a surprising move, Julian Nagelsmann has been sacked from his position as the head coach of Bayern Munich.
The announcement came alongside the news that former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel would take over.
Bayern Munich, the dominant force in the Bundesliga with ten consecutive league titles, currently sits in second place, one point behind Borussia Dortmund.
Despite remaining in contention for the league title and the Champions League, the club’s leadership was unsatisfied with Nagelsmann’s performance.

Nagelsmann was informed of his dismissal while on a skiing holiday and returned to Munich on Friday with his agents Kai Psotta and Sascha Breese.
His departure comes with ten games remaining in the season as Bayern looks to maintain its championship streak.
CEO Oliver Kahn confirmed the decision, citing “big fluctuations in our performances” as the reason for the change.
