Spanish midfielder Gabri Veiga has accepted an offer from Al Ahli to move to the Saudi Premier League, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 21-year-old creative midfielder had garnered interest from European clubs, including Chelsea and Napoli. However, the move to Napoli collapsed in the last 48 hours, and Al Ahli seized the opportunity to sign Veiga.
Al Ahli’s move to sign Veiga is part of a trend in the Saudi Pro League to strengthen their teams with the best young talents and big names coming to the end of their careers.

Losing a player like Veiga is another major blow to La Liga, which is already struggling to compete with the Premier League wages. The Spanish league now faces a fresh threat in the form of the Saudi Pro League.
Veiga’s move to Al Ahli is significant, as he is considered a brilliant talent in La Liga. Celta Vigo, Veiga’s former club, accepted the offer for the midfielder, and he has accepted a presumably monster contract offer from Al Ahli.
The move is a loss for La Liga, which is already struggling to keep its top players due to the high wages offered by other leagues.
