Chelsea and Tottenham Spurs will have to pay a higher price for Folarin Balogun than other transfer rivals in the race for Arsenal’s USMNT striker.
Arsenal has set a valuation of £50 million ($63 million) for Balogun, making it more expensive for Chelsea and Spurs to secure his services. This higher price tag is due to Arsenal’s reluctance to do business with Premier League rivals, especially London neighbors, and their unwillingness to offer discounts to domestic foes.
Monaco is currently the favorite to sign Balogun, as they have already had one offer rejected.
Balogun, eager to find regular first-team football, has not been included in Arsenal’s matchday squad at the start of the 2023-24 season and has been training away from the rest of Mikel Arteta‘s squad. It is expected that Balogun will be part of a mass exodus from Arsenal before the summer transfer deadline on September 1.
The young striker has attracted interest from various European clubs, including AC Milan, Inter, RB Leipzig, and Napoli. Another Premier League rival, Crystal Palace, is keen on signing Balogun.
However, RB Leipzig has shifted their focus to alternative targets upon learning of Arsenal’s valuation, while Crystal Palace is actively seeking to bolster their forward department.
