A high court in Owutu-Edda, Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi state, has been set ablaze by unidentified individuals.
Reports indicate that on Tuesday, the culprits unlawfully entered the premises and proceeded to set the court ablaze, destroying vital court documents.
The incident was confirmed by the court registrar, Oluchi Uduma, who spoke to journalists in Owutu-Edda the following day.
She stated that the court building and its valuable assets were completely burnt.
The unfortunate event occurred on Tuesday, shortly after the state governorship and House of Assembly election results were announced.

Uduma explained that about 30 hoodlums invaded the court premises singing war songs before setting the building on fire.
They had previously attempted to burn down the state high court but were prevented by security agencies.
The council’s chairman, Mr. Chima Ekuma Nkama, confirmed the incident. He expressed disappointment and said the court was burnt beyond repair.
He informed the authorities, including the governor and commissioner of police, hoping the perpetrators would be apprehended.
Hopefully they are apprehended.
