Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been named the FWA Footballer of the Year in the men’s category for the 2022-23 season.
Haaland’s debut season in England has been remarkable. The Norwegian sensation has scored 51 goals in all competitions, including 35 in the Premier League, a new record for a single top-flight campaign.
According to the FWA’s official website, Haaland won the award by a significant margin, with 72% of the votes, the biggest margin since the Premier League began. Initially, he was neck and neck with Bukayo Saka in the voting, but he eventually emerged as the winner.
