Mbappe vs Kane: Obvious Choice For Madrid's Striker Dilemma

Although he had decent statistics with double-digit goals in each of his previous four seasons and experience in top leagues like the Bundesliga, Premier League, and La Liga, the reality was harsh. Joselu, at 33 years old, was consistently caught offside and never achieved a high league finish as a first-choice option, with his best being 13th. His goal-scoring record also fell short, never surpassing 16 goals in a season. It was clear that Joselu was not a promising replacement for the departing Karim Benzema.

However, the situation quickly changed. News emerged that Real Madrid was prepared to invest substantially in Harry Kane. The Tottenham striker appeared to be on the market, eager to secure a move away from north London. Real Madrid was reportedly ready to meet the price for his services, as reported by The Athletic.

At the same time, the ongoing saga involving Kylian Mbappe took another turn. The flirtation between Mbappe and Real Madrid has been long-standing, and it seems a move could finally materialize. However, there is a catch. L’Equipe reports that PSG is demanding €200 million (£171m/$216m) for Mbappe.

Although Real Madrid is unlikely to meet that asking price, they cannot simply spend another massive sum after recently splurging €103m (£88m/$110m) on Jude Bellingham. Real Madrid may have to sell some players to generate the funds required to acquire Mbappe, whom they covet.

What initially appeared to be a straightforward transaction has become somewhat complicated. While Kane awaits his fate, potentially ready to be snatched away, there should be no debate. Kane may be a tempting option and a good fit for Real Madrid in many ways, but Kylian Mbappe is a clear choice.
