The biggest fashion event in the world, The Met Gala, returned on May 1st, 2023, and brought together the top power players in the fashion, entertainment, movie, and modeling industries.
The annual fundraising gala, held for the benefit of the Museum of Arts, is fashion’s big night out, and this year’s theme was “In honor of Karl,” in memory of the late Chanel designer, Karl Lagerfeld.
As expected, top celebrities graced the event, strutting the red carpet with their endearing looks.
Nigerian award-winning singers, Temilade Openiyi (Tems) and Damini Ogulu (Burna Boy), made their debut, stunning the red carpet and making Nigerians proud.
Burna Boy donned a matching black and blue slightly checkered outfit with a generous cape-like extension of the same material flowing behind him.
Tems, on the other hand, wore a Custom Rober Wun dress with a black corset-like top, a flowing regal white finishing at the bottom, and elbow-length gloves.
Tems was styled by Dunsun Wright, and unlike her Oscar outfit, she didn’t block anyone’s view.
The Met Gala is not just a fashion event, but also an opportunity for celebrities to make political and social statements.
