Nollywood actor and film director, Obinna Nwafor, popularly known as Saint Obi, has passed away after a battle with an unspecified illness.
The Live News was able to confirm the news of his demise.
Saint Obi reportedly died almost a week ago at his sister’s residence in the capital city of Plateau state, Jos.
Sources said the actor passed away last week Sunday after battling with an unspecified illness for several months.
His body was subsequently deposited in a morgue at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).
The actor was 57 years old at the time of his death.
Saint Obi first appeared on the acting scene in 1996 after doing a commercial for Peugeot on NTA. He went on to feature in over 100 movies, including ‘Sakobi’, ‘Festival of Fire’, ‘State of Emergency’ and other popular films.
Saint Obi was famously known for his role in blockbuster movies such as ‘Candle Light’, ‘Goodbye Tomorrow’ and others.
