The Labour Party’s House of Assembly candidate for Ahoada West in Rivers State, Boma Kasim-Agida, has been released from captivity after being abducted by unknown gunmen.
He was kidnapped at the entrance of his hotel while returning from a political rally in Ahoada West LGA of Rivers State. The incident occurred last Tuesday.

Agida revealed that he was held for three days without communicating with his captors, who appeared to be waiting for further instructions. According to him, the kidnappers did not request a ransom; neither was any paid. He was eventually blindfolded and released along Amasoma road in Bayelsa state.
According to Agida, the election postponement may have affected his release. He expressed gratitude to God, saying, “I think that added to my release.”
However, investigations into the incident are ongoing, according to the police Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Command, Grace Iringe-Koko.
No arrests have been made at this time.
