Zinedine Zidane has once again rejected an offer from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to be their next manager.
The Live News reports that PSG’s current manager, Galtier, has failed to meet expectations, prompting the club’s advisor, Luis Ocampos, to inform the 56-year-old that his time at the helm is ending. PSG had hoped to bring Zidane to fill the vacant managerial position, but the legendary French player has turned down their offer.

This is not the first time PSG has pursued Zidane as their first choice for the managerial role. A report from Le Parisien suggests that the club had also targeted Zidane last year after Mauricio Pochettino’s dismissal. However, just as before, Zidane has opted not to accept the offer from PSG, as he reportedly has his sights set on coaching the France national team.
Galtier, who took charge of PSG last year, aimed to guide the star-studded Parisian squad to European glory. Unfortunately, he fell short of the targets set by the club’s hierarchy. PSG managed to secure the Ligue 1 title, a trophy they have frequently won recently, but Galtier had ambitions for more. The team’s disappointing exit from the Champions League and other domestic cups has reportedly led to the board’s decision to part ways with Galtier.

Following Zidane’s rejection, PSG has turned their attention to other potential candidates for the managerial role. Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, and Xabi Alonso are among the surfaced names. Nagelsmann and Enrique were previously linked with a move to Chelsea. Still, with the appointment of Pochettino as the Blues’ new manager, PSG now appears to be the frontrunner to secure Nagelsmann’s services at the Parc des Princes.
Despite PSG pursuing a new manager, Zidane remains focused on his aspirations with the France national team. Since leaving his position as the manager of Real Madrid in 2021, Zidane has been waiting for the right opportunity, and it seems that coaching his home country is his ultimate goal.
