Arsenal’s summer signing, Jurrien Timber, was forced off the pitch during the opening day match against Nottingham Forest due to a knee injury.
The club has since released a statement confirming that Timber has sustained an injury to his right knee and will undergo a further detailed review with a consultant to assess the full extent of the injury.
While the club has not revealed how long they expect Timber to be out, there are fears that he could face months on the sidelines due to knee ligament damage.
The statement reads:
“Jurrien Timber has received extensive scans which have confirmed he has sustained an injury to his right knee” Jurrien will undergo a further detailed review with a consultant to assess the full extent of the injury.”

The injury to Timber is a significant blow to Arsenal, who were hoping to have the defender play a key role in the upcoming season. The club has not revealed the specific nature of the injury, but there are concerns that it could be an ACL or MCL knee injury. These injuries can take several months to heal, and the recovery process can be challenging.
The loss of Timber will be felt by Arsenal, who are already dealing with several injury concerns heading into the new season. The club will need to rely on other defenders to step up in his absence, and it remains to be seen how they will cope without him.
In the meantime, fans will be hoping for a speedy recovery for the young defender, who has shown much promise since joining the club.
