Chef Dammy, also known as Damilola Adeparusi, has made an exciting announcement in her quest to surpass Hilda Baci’s achievements.
The talented Nigerian chef plans to undertake a remarkable 150-hour cook-a-thon, as reported by the Nigerian Tribune.
During a conversation with reporters in Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti state, Chef Dammy expressed her determination to set a new Guinness World Record (GWR). The 22-year-old, a Mass Communication student in her third year at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), confirmed that she is eager to embark on this culinary marathon and break the current record.
She graciously acknowledged the tremendous support she has received from various stakeholders within and outside of Ekiti state. Chef Dammy intends to challenge herself and achieve the remarkable feat of a 150-hour cooking spree, showcasing her exceptional culinary skills and unwavering determination.
Previously, Chef Dammy had denied aiming for a Guinness World Record. In a statement on her official Facebook page, she clarified that her initial goal with the 120-hour cook-a-thon was to push her boundaries and explore her capabilities rather than focusing solely on breaking records. Despite facing criticism, she expressed her joy and pride in persevering throughout the entire 120 hours.
“I stated this earlier that I embarked on this journey to test my capability, not for any GWR,” Chef Dammy clarified. “l am happy that I cooked for 120 hours. I am proud that I never gave up.”
By undertaking this remarkable cook-a-thon, Chef Dammy aims to make her mark in the culinary world while inspiring others to embrace their passions and strive for greatness.
