“Disappointed” is how Luis Enrique felt about Todd Boehly’s decision to appoint Frank Lampard as Chelsea’s caretaker manager until the end of the season.
According to football.london, Enrique had visited London earlier this month to hold discussions with Chelsea about becoming their new head coach.
Enrique was a candidate to replace Graham Potter after the former Chelsea boss was sacked due to a poor run of results following Thomas Tuchel’s departure earlier this season.
However, the team’s form has not improved under Lampard, with the club legend losing all three games so far.

Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly a strong contender to take over from Potter, but the German is said to prefer waiting until the summer to become the new manager.
Although reports suggested that Nagelsmann was also given the opportunity to discuss Chelsea’s vacant managerial position, no hasty decisions will be made despite Lampard’s failure to improve results.
According to AS, Chelsea’s decision to appoint Lampard on a temporary basis was a disappointment for Enrique, who wanted the opportunity to face Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Under Lampard’s leadership, Chelsea suffered a 2-0 defeat in the first leg of their quarter-final tie at the Santiago Bernabeu, leaving them with a difficult task to qualify for the semi-finals.
Enrique won two La Liga titles and the Champions League during his three-year tenure at Barcelona, and he had two stints as Spain’s national team manager.
Despite his disappointment, he is still considered one of the top candidates to replace Potter on a permanent basis as Chelsea weighs its options.
Cesar Azpilicueta, Chelsea’s current captain, has already given his approval for Enrique to take the helm at Stamford Bridge. In an interview with Spanish outlet EFE, Azpilicueta said, “We will see what happens. My best games with the national team were with him [Enrique] as coach.”

Chelsea’s owner doesn’t know the worth of the club, they should ask about Abrahamovic almost 20 years era, what Chelsea has become, if they have done this mistake with a lower team, the team may end up relegating. The clelsea owners didn’t realize that after the costly mistake of experimenting the club with Graham Potter, they still had champions league to fight for, why can’t they give Enrique especially or Pocchetino the chance as we know whoever they eventually employ may not be better than these coaches so that at least like Tuchel may make the best out of these position, Lampard appointment is questionable after having a long losing streak with Everton, Is that the kind of person after that experience you put in charge of a team with losing streak, I pray survive relegation battle this time. Since 2002 I have been following this team Chelsea has not have these terrible losing streak or weak players that cannot score goals after spending 600 million pounds on champions league winning team, my other fear is that the coach they would eventually employ may end up selling some of Chelsea best performing players without even testing all of them. I hope we’ll not have the Salah and De Bruyne situation again.
