On Saturday, the NDLEA reported an arrest in Ogun state’s Ibara area. The arrest involved four party agents with hundreds of credit cards for vote buying.
One of the agents was wearing a PDP ID card in the photo. The NDLEA did not confirm the agents’ political affiliation, but the ID card suggests they were PDP agents.
Buba Marwa, NDLEA’s chairperson, said they would hand the suspects to the police with proper documentation.

The NDLEA seized the suspects at the Ibara housing estate in Ogun state. They found many money credit cards on them. Each card holds 10k and needs a code to convert into cash. The suspects planned to use these cards to buy votes.
During the presidential and national assembly elections, security operatives intensified efforts to combat vote buying, arresting suspected buyers nationwide.
One such arrest was that of Chinyere Igwe, a member of the House of Representatives representing the Port Harcourt II federal constituency and a supporter of Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate.
She was arrested on February 24, Igwe, by the Rivers police with $498,100 cash.
