Chelsea Football Club has had a dismal season so far, and things are not expected to improve soon.
The players are facing significant pay cuts for the upcoming season.
TheLiveNews reports that the team’s chances of success in the Champions League were already slim before their recent game, and they lost 2-0 to Real Madrid, marking their fourth consecutive defeat.
Didier Drogba, Chelsea club legend, has expressed his disappointment, stating that he no longer recognizes the team he played for.
The team’s elimination from Europe means their final seven games of the Premier League season are insignificant, and the club’s standing is expected to drop even further.

According to the Daily Mail, the team’s difficulties are about to increase further as Todd Boehly has linked player contracts to failure and only bonuses will be given for trophies won.
Players who have agreed to new contracts in the previous year, and any new signings, will face at least a 30% reduction in their current wages from next season if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Boehly’s contracts were supposed to motivate players; however, the team’s performance has been disappointing throughout the season.
Chelsea signed twelve new players during the January transfer window with no clear plan, contributing to the team’s struggles. Seven existing squad members have also signed new contracts since Boehly took over last year, meaning that nineteen players in total will be affected by the wage reduction.
Several players are expected to leave the team in the summer, with Mason Mount being heavily linked to a move. Newcastle United has reportedly been quoted £80 million for the midfielder.
