President Bola Tinubu made a significant move on Thursday by assenting to a crucial bill, signifying his commitment to the progress of Nigeria.
The Live News reports that the bill in question, titled The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (Fifth Alteration) (No.37), 2023, was presented by the outgoing 9th National Assembly.
President Tinubu exercised his constitutional powers to approve this bill, enacting it into law. This amendment serves as a fresh update to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, bringing about various changes and improvements.

One of the notable changes introduced by the Constitutional Amendment Bill is the standardization of retirement age and pension rights for judicial officers. This measure ensures uniformity and addresses related matters in the judiciary.
In a statement released by Abiodun Oladunjoye, the Director of Information, President Tinubu expressed his administration’s unwavering dedication to strengthening the judiciary, upholding the rule of law, and empowering judicial officers to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
